Fairer Warmth Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to: 

  • The Fairer Warmth mobile applications on iOS and Android 

 

The Fairer Warmth Application is run by the Centre for Energy Equality (CEE). 

We are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the requirements of the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018. 

This means you should be able to: 

  • Navigate most of the site using a keyboard 

  • Use a screen reader to access content 

  • Zoom in up to 400% without losing important information 

  • Change text spacing using your browser settings 

  • Access video content with captions 

 

As of June 2026 we meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard and are are striving beyond this by working towards features of the AAA standard.

In terms of achieving AAA standard, we have already achieved the following elements:

  • 2.2.3 No Timing 

  • 2.2.4 Interruptions

  • 2.2.5 Re-authenticating

  • 2.2.6 Timeouts

  • 2.3.2 Three Flashes

  • 2.3.3 Animation from Interactions

  • 2.4.10 Section Headings

Compliance Status:

The Fairer Warmth Application is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard. 

Following an independent accessibility assessment, a programme of remediation has been completed addressing the majority of identified issues. 

Ongoing Improvements:

Accessibility is an ongoing priority. We will continue to update as part of our ongoing support of the Fairer warmth system. We are working on translations for all items on an ongoing basis, if you see anything that is incorrect,  please feel free to contact us.

Technical Information About This Website’s Accessibility:  

CEE is committed to making Fairer Warmth accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.  

Disproportionate Burden:

We have not identified any areas where we are claiming disproportionate burden. 

Preparation Of This Accessibility Statement :

This software was last tested in June 2026. 

 

Testing was carried out by CEE following an independent accessibility assessment. We reviewed the main user journeys and key pages across the website, web application and mobile applications. 

 

We used a sample-based approach to testing, focusing on high-use journeys including: 

  • Account registration 

  • The home energy assessment journey 

  • Grant search 

 

We plan to carry out a further review within the next month.
